David Ortiz is enjoying retirement. That much is clear, especially after the former slugger posted a long video on Twitter over the weekend of himself enjoying his vacation.
But Ortiz is expected to make an appearance at Red Sox camp at some point during Spring Training, and fans shouldn't be surprised if they hear his voice adding commentary to some Boston games this season.

The Red Sox and Ortiz have reportedly discussed the slugger becoming part of NESN's broadcasting team, according to WEEI.com, a possibility Red Sox president Sam Kennedy confirmed recently.
"It'll be fun to watch the next stage of his career," Kennedy told Boston Herald Radio on Tuesday. "He's got a lot of different interests. Broadcasting is certainly one. It'd be interesting to see if he goes into national broadcasting. We'd certainly love to have him [as] part of our local broadcast team on a limited basis. He wanted to dip his toe into that water."
It's not hard to imagine Ortiz's larger-than-life personality in the booth. We've seen it before. He was most recently a part of FOX's coverage of the 2014 World Series, when he blended his natural charisma with an ability to break down the game's offensive nuances.
The Red Sox will retire Ortiz's No. 34 at Fenway Park on June 23.
