Derrick Hall always has a box of caps in his car

August 14th, 2018

Derrick Hall graduated from Arizona State University before joining the Dodgers, where he rose from intern to senior vice president of communications over a dozen years. He left the game to work for a Fortune 500 company, then eventually returned to Arizona, where he's turned the D-backs into one of the most fan-friendly franchises in sports.
Hall sat down with MLB.com's Mark Feinsand on this week's episode of Executive Access to remember his tenure as a morning talk show host in Los Angeles, explain why he always keeps a box of D-backs caps in his car and describe the thought process behind handing Zack Greinke the largest contract in franchise history.

On Executive Access, executive reporter Feinsand provides a unique look at the people building Major League teams by engaging in candid interviews with front-office personnel from around MLB. Each week, you'll find out how they broke into the game, why they do what they do and how they envision the future of baseball. Look out for new episodes on Tuesdays.
