PHOENIX -- Diamondbacks outfielder Lourdes Gurriel Jr. has been placed on the 10-day injured list, and the club has called up Tommy Troy, the club's No. 4 prospect, per MLB Pipeline.
Gurriel exited Arizona’s Friday night loss to the Rockies in the top of the sixth inning after he felt tightness in his left hamstring while making a sliding catch. An exam revealed a left hamstring strain.
The 32-year-old sustained a torn ACL in September 2025, but made an earlier-than-expected return to the active roster on April 18 following months of rehab. He’s slashing .228/.284/.304 with 11 RBIs and one home run in 25 games this season.
Defensively, Gurriel remains as dependable as ever. He has yet to commit an error in 2026, ranking well above the league fielding percentage of .989 among left fielders. He played left field in 24 of his 25 appearances this season.
The 24-year-old Troy has yet to make his big league debut, but he has accumulated 268 games of Minor League experience dating back to 2023. He’s slashing .307/.397/.449 with three home runs and 28 RBIs in 44 games with Triple-A Reno this season.
Arizona selected Troy 12th overall in the 2023 MLB Draft.
