LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers have activated right-handed pitcher Bobby Miller from the injured list and optioned right-handed pitcher Kyle Hurt. In order to make room on the 40-man roster, the Dodgers designated outfielder Alek Thomas for assignment.
Miller, 27, returns for the Dodgers after missing the first 142 games recovering from a right shoulder injury. He made seven rehab appearances (one start), going 2-0 with a 3.86 ERA and 17 strikeouts in 14.0 innings. He has been in the Majors parts of three seasons with Los Angeles with a 13-8 record and a 5.44 ERA. He had a banner season in 2024, setting career marks in wins (11), starts (22), ERA (3.76), innings pitched (124.1), strikeouts (119) and WHIP (1.10). He was the Dodgers’ first round pick in 2020, selected with the 29th overall pick from the University of Louisville.
Hurt, 28, pitched last night, tossing 0.2 innings with one strikeout. He is 4-1 with a 4.33 ERA this season and 56 strikeouts in 43.2 innings. He has been with the Dodgers for three seasons, compiling a 3.78 ERA with 62 strikeouts in 52.1 innings. The Southern California native was originally drafted by the Marlins in the fifth round of the 2020 First Year Player Draft out of the University of Southern California.
