LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers added catcher Hunter Feduccia to the roster, selected the contract of catcher Ben Rortvedt, optioned catcher Eliezer Alfonzo and designated catcher Chuckie Robinson for assignment.
Feduccia, 29, was acquired yesterday along with right-handed pitcher Jacob Kmatz from the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for outfielder Jack Suwinski and international bonus pool money. He appeared in 60 games for the Rays this year, batting .234 with two homers and 12 RBI. He has been in the Major Leagues parts of three seasons with Los Angeles (2024-25) and Rays (2025-26), batting .207 with two homers and 21 RBI. In seven minor league seasons, he is a .271 hitter with 55 homers and 308 RBI. He was drafted by the Dodgers in the 12th round out of Louisiana State University in 2018.
Rortvedt, 28, was acquired via trade yesterday from the New York Mets in exchange for right-handed pitcher Chayce McDermott. He was with Triple- A Syracuse, playing in 48 games, hitting .235 with six homers and 26 RBI. Last season, he played in 18 games for Los Angeles, batting .225 with one homer and four RBI while helping the Dodger starters to an MLB-best 2.17 ERA in the month of September. He made his Major League debut in 2021 with the Minnesota Twins and has been part of the New York Yankees (2023), Rays (2024-25) and Dodgers (2025), hitting a combined .190 with nine homers and 52 RBI in 227 games. He was drafted in the second round of the 2016 First Year Player Draft out of Verona High School.
Alfonzo, 26, went 1-for-3 last night against the Cubs. He played in 12 games for the Dodgers, batting .185 with two doubles and four RBI. He was batting .313 with one homer and 17 RBI with Triple-A Oklahoma City this season. He has appeared in 581 minor league games, batting .283 with 32 homers and 283 RBI. He signed with the Dodgers as a minor league free agent on November 17, 2025.
Robinson, 31, rejoined the team yesterday but did not appear in a game. He has been in the Majors parts of three seasons with the Cincinnati Reds (2022), Chicago White Sox (2024) and Dodgers (2026), batting .124 with two homers and six RBI. With Triple-A Oklahoma City this season, he appeared in 33 games, hitting .229 with five homers and 23 RBI. He was drafted by the Houston Astros in the 2016 First Year Player Draft in the 21st round out of the University of Southern Mississippi.
