LOS ANGELES -- Reigning National League Player of the Week Alex Wood continued his sudden dominance with 7 1/3 scoreless innings and fill-ins Chris Taylor, Brett Eibner and Cody Bellinger homered as the Dodgers beat the Marlins Friday night, 7-2, in a game that included an injury to Yasiel Puig and a bench-clearing fracas.
Wood (5-0, 1.88 ERA overall) is 4-0 with a 1.23 ERA in his last five starts and has a streak of 20 1/3 consecutive scoreless innings. He had only four strikeouts, but the Dodgers turned four double-plays behind him.
"I think their game plan was to swing early and often," Wood said of the Marlins. "It can be beneficial to me like tonight, but when you're not efficient it can hurt you. Any way you get zeros is good. "
"They get us early, they get one in the first, and five by the fourth, basically put us on our heels and we didn't do a whole lot after that," Marlins manager Don Mattingly said.

Taylor, utilizing playing time created by injuries to Justin Turner and John Forsythe, went 3-for-4 and missed a cycle by a triple. He also started the four double-plays, two with shortstop Corey Seager, who also had a pair of hits, a walk and scored a pair of runs. Eibner, called up before the game when Turner went on the disabled list, slugged a two-run homer in the fourth inning off Justin Nicolino, as the Marlins' losing streak reached five.
After Eibner was hit by a pitch from A.J. Ramos in the eighth inning following Bellinger's home run, Dodgers reliever Thomas Stripling's first pitch of the ninth inning was behind Giancarlo Stanton. Stripling was immediately ejected, and in the aftermath of the scrum, Mattingly and Dodgers bench coach Bob Geren were ejected.
"They felt that I threw at them on purpose and I didn't," Ramos said.

One night after Turner was injured, however, Puig left the game after four innings with lower and middle back tightness. Puig said afterward he would not need to go on the disabled list.
MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
Flashy glove: Taylor saved a run or two in the second inning when he short-hopped Christian Colon's bouncer behind the bag, flipped it with his glove for one out at second base as shortstop Seager caught the ball with his bare right hand and fired to first for a double-play. J.T. Riddle followed with a double to left field, but he was stranded on Nicolino's groundout. Taylor started four double-plays.

Preserving the shutout (temporarily): Stripling took over for Wood with one out and two on in the eighth inning and got Marcell Ozuna to bounce to Taylor and start the fourth double-play of the night, the most the Dodgers defense had turned in a game since it had four Sept. 11, 2013, against Arizona.

WHAT'S NEXT
Marlins:Dan Straily starts the 10:10 p.m. ET game on Saturday in his first action since being hit by a hard liner on Monday. Straily still has a noticeable bruise on his right forearm, but he says he's good to go.
Dodgers:Julio Urias starts the 7:10 p.m. PT Saturday game and he will be looking to rebound from a rough outing in Coors Field, where he allowed six runs in four-plus innings.
