Dodgers, Graterol avoid arbitration with 1-year deal (source)

January 8th, 2026

LOS ANGELES -- The Dodgers and righty reliever agreed to a one-year, $2.8 million contract to avoid arbitration for the 2026 season, a source told MLB.com on Wednesday. The team has not confirmed the deal.

In addition to Graterol, there are three other arbitration-eligible Dodgers who must agree to terms on a salary for the upcoming season before Thursday's deadline: lefty reliever Anthony Banda, outfielder Alex Call and righty reliever Brock Stewart.

If any of the remaining three players do not reach an agreement with the team before the deadline, both sides will exchange salary figures and schedule a hearing. Negotiations between players and teams can continue up until the hearing date.

Graterol, 27, will receive the same salary as he did in 2025, when he was out for the entire year while recovering from right shoulder labrum surgery. The hard-throwing reliever was also limited to just seven appearances in the regular season and three in the postseason in '24 due to shoulder and hamstring injuries.

Last season, the Dodgers missed Graterol's presence in leverage spots, as the beleaguered bullpen was lacking a true shutdown right-hander due to the struggles of Blake Treinen and Kirby Yates, as well as the injuries to Michael Kopech and Evan Phillips. In 178 appearances with the Dodgers across five seasons, Graterol has a 2.69 ERA. He's held right-handed hitters to a .524 OPS in his career.

In his final year of club control before free agency, Graterol is expected to be healthy entering Spring Training.

Banda, 32, is in his second year of arbitration. He led Dodgers pitchers with 71 appearances and posted a 3.18 ERA in his second season in L.A. He earned $1 million in 2025.

Call, 31, is arbitration-eligible for the first time. After being traded from the Nationals ahead of last year's Deadline, he made it into 38 games for the Dodgers and hit .247 with a .717 OPS.

Stewart, 34, is in his second year of arbitration. The righty reliever also joined the Dodgers at the previous Trade Deadline, but he made just four appearances before sustaining an injury to his right shoulder. A debridement procedure ultimately ended his 2025 season, but the Dodgers are hopeful that he won't miss too much time to begin '26. Between the Twins and Dodgers, Stewart posted a 2.63 ERA in 43 appearances last season.
