PHOENIX -- Joc Pederson started the Dodgers' offense Tuesday night with a solo homer in the fifth inning. An inning later, he hit another solo shot. All in all, Los Angeles belted four home runs in a 7-4 win over the D-backs at Chase Field.
"We had some big hits and it was good to see, after having a good approach last night, to see it carry over," Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said.
It was Pederson's second multihomer game of the season and the third of his career. Justin Turner and Chase Utley also homered for the Dodgers, who snapped a three-game losing streak and evened the series. Utley went 2-for-5 and drove in four runs.

"I was just looking for a good pitch to hit," said Pederson. "I was just trying to put the barrel on it and it went farther than I was trying to do."
Dodgers starter Kenta Maeda (6-4) won for the third time in four starts, allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits in 5 1/3 innings. However, the rookie right-hander left in the sixth after he was hit on the right leg by a line drive off the bat of Paul Goldschmidt. Maeda (right lower leg bruise) was helped off the field, avoiding putting pressure on his right leg. X-rays were negative.

D-backs starter Archie Bradley (2-3) retired 13 of the first 14 batters he faced, allowing no hits through four innings. He then gave up five earned runs on four hits, getting pulled with two outs in the sixth and losing for the third consecutive start.
"It's frustrating, obviously," Bradley said. "The homer to break up the no-hitter, whatever, that's part of the game. But the two walks following that is really what bothers me."
MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
Making Maeda work: D-backs leadoff hitter Jean Segura saw a lot of pitches in his first two at-bats, and he made Maeda pay for it. In the first, he doubled on the 10th pitch, then scored the game's first run on a Jake Lamb single. In the third, Segura singled on the seventh pitch and later scored on a single from Goldschmidt that made it 2-0. Segura has a six-game hitting streak, collecting multiple hits four times. He finished with four hits for the second time this season.

Utley overdue: Utley drove in nine runs in two games in New York, but had only one RBI in the next 13 games before his two-run single off Bradley in the fifth turned a one-run deficit into a one-run Dodgers lead. Utley added a two-run homer in the seventh.

"The home run was lefty versus lefty, and that was good to see," Roberts said of the homer off Zac Curtis, who was optioned to Double-A after the game.
Punching them out: Bradley surpassed four strikeouts just once in his first 10 career starts -- when he struck out six in his Major League debut against the Dodgers on April 11, 2015. In four starts since his most recent promotion from Triple-A Reno, he's exceeded that number each time out. The right-hander fanned nine and has 33 strikeouts over his past four outings.

"He threw a lot of pitches, he threw a lot of balls," D-backs manager Chip Hale said, "but his stuff was electric tonight." More >

Don't forget Turner: Turner homered and singled, giving him an extra-base hit in five of the last seven games. The home run, leading off the top of the sixth, broke a 3-3 tie and put the Dodgers ahead to stay.

"Just trying to hit balls hard and this is a great place to play offense," said Turner. "I felt like I hit a lot of balls hard in SF and didn't get rewarded, but this is a bigger place and the ball flies."

Dodgers:Clayton Kershaw gets the start in the 12:40 p.m. PT rubber game, and as great as the left-hander is, he hasn't been great at Chase Field. A 3.90 ERA at Chase is higher than his ERA in any National League road park not named Coors Field (4.63). In 11 Phoenix starts, he is 4-7.
D-backs: The D-backs wrap up a nine-game homestand when they send Patrick Corbin to the mound for the rubber game at Chase Field at 12:40 p.m. MST. Corbin has struggled at home, going 0-4 with a 7.53 ERA in six starts. He is 3-4 with a 3.78 ERA in 10 career games (nine starts) against the Dodgers.
