The Dodgers designated left-hander for assignment as a corresponding move on Friday after they claimed catcher off waivers.

Banda, 32, pitched for seven other organizations with mixed success before catching on with the Dodgers in May 2024. He went 8-3 with a 3.14 ERA in 114 2/3 innings for Los Angeles in 2024-25, striking out 111 and walking 52. He pitched in the postseason for both Dodgers championship teams, allowing just one run in eight innings in '24, but he struggled against Toronto in the '25 World Series.

Rortvedt, 28, was acquired by the Dodgers at the 2025 Trade Deadline. He hit .224 with one home run in limited game time down the stretch, before seeing action in four postseason games in the first two rounds. Rortvedt was claimed off waivers in November by the Reds, who designated him for assignment when they signed Eugenio Suárez on Tuesday, allowing the Dodgers to snap him back up.
