Dodgers, Giants resume rivalry on MLB.TV

One of the best rivalries in baseball takes center stage today when the Dodgers and Giants begin a three-game series in San Francisco at 10:15 p.m. ET on MLB.TV. The clubs split a four-game series last month.
In the first game of a three-game set, right-hander (3-0, 3.10 ERA) gets the nod for the Dodgers and right-hander (2-1, 4.54) takes the hill for the Giants.
McCarthy, who's been on the 10-day disabled list with a dislocated left shoulder, will be activated before the game. A simulated game and a few side sessions have been the extent of McCarthy's activity since he last pitched on April 29 against the Phillies.
Cain tossed six scoreless innings against the Dodgers on April 24, which was his last win. The right-hander has since allowed 12 earned runs in 13 1/3 innings in three starts.

If wants to keep his spot in the Braves rotation, he'll need to have a strong start. Plagued by a lack of command, the 43-year-old is 1-4 with a 7.22 ERA and has allowed 19 runs in his last three starts.

In his previous outing against the Astros, his worst start this season, Colon allowed eight earned runs on eight hits in 5 2/3 innings for his second straight loss.
He'll be up against Blue Jays right-hander Mike Bolsinger, who is taking the spot of in the rotation after Liriano went on the disabled list with left shoulder inflammation on May 11. Bolsinger allowed two runs on three hits in 5 2/3 innings in his season debut against the Indians, but took a loss.
