An offseason of highly publicized misfires left the Dodgers with essentially the same lineup that finished the season, including early Rookie of the Year candidate Corey Seager at shortstop.
The starting rotation lost Zack Greinke. Management ultimately replaced him and covered for the comebacking Hyun-Jin Ryu by adding veteran Scott Kazmir and Japanese star Kenta Maeda.
After an Aroldis Chapman trade fell apart, the biggest acquisition in the bullpen was former starter Joe Blanton, who reinvented himself during two dominant months in Pittsburgh.
