LA loss gives Nats home-field for NLDS

October 1st, 2016

Thanks to the Dodgers' 3-0 loss to the Giants on Saturday, the Nationals clinched the No. 2 seed in the National League, which gave them home-field advantage in their upcoming NL Division Series matchup with Los Angeles.
The NL East champions will host Game 1 of the NLDS on Friday at Nationals Park -- as well as a potential climactic Game 5, if necessary, on Oct. 13.
The Dodgers took two of three games at Nationals Park in July. Los Angeles had a 5-1 advantage over Washington in the season series.
The Nationals are looking to advance to the NL Championship Series for the first time in franchise history, after falling in the NLDS in both 2012 and '14. Washington owned home-field advantage in each of those series.
