Hatcher to paternity list; Liberatore called up

April 14th, 2016

LOS ANGELES -- The Dodgers announced Thursday that the club had placed right-handed pitcher Chris Hatcher on the paternity list and called up left-handed pitcher Adam Liberatore to replace him on the 25-man roster.
Hatcher announced on Twitter in the afternoon the birth of Jensen Thomas Hatcher, reporting both the mother and baby were healthy. The 31-year-old will miss at least the Dodgers' game against the D-backs on Thursday, and he can return any time before Sunday's matchup with the Giants.

Liberatore appeared in three games in this season for Triple-A Oklahoma City, allowing no runs over four innings with eight strikeouts. He posted a 4.25 ERA with 29 strikeouts in 29 2/3 innings for the Major League club in 2015.
Liberatore will join a bullpen that previously had only one left-hander in J.P. Howell.
"Adam's been throwing the ball well," manager Dave Roberts said. "That was kind of one of things that he was a victim of circumstance and numbers when he was optioned out at Spring Training. He responded. To have two left-handers, it's nice. It'll give us some options."
