Seager, Pederson have contracts renewed

March 14th, 2017

PHOENIX -- The Dodgers on Monday renewed the contracts of shortstop and outfielder .
Seager, who earned $510,000 last season, when he was the unanimous choice for National League Rookie of the Year and third in NL MVP voting, will receive $575,000. Pederson, who earned $520,000 in 2016, will receive $555,000 in 2017.
Because neither player has sufficient Major League service time to be eligible for salary arbitration, the Collective Bargaining Agreement allows clubs to arbitrarily renew those players for a salary at or near the minimum.

Pederson will be eligible for salary arbitration in 2018, Seager in 2019.
