Wood, a starter forced into relief coming off in-season elbow surgery, gives the Dodgers 12 pitchers, one more than they carried against the Nationals in the NLDS.

Hernandez gives manager Dave Roberts the option to platoon in center field or pinch-hit for against Cubs' lefties, most notably Game 1 starter . Hernandez has hit well against Cubs lefties, and he has the only home run off Lester among the Dodgers. Hernandez is also 1-for-1 against reliever . He's 3-for-12 lifetime against Lester, while Pederson is 0-for-3.
