The Miami Marlins' next game on Friday Sept. 17, is part of the DraftKings main fantasy baseball slate, and it’ll kick off their home series against the Pittsburgh Pirates. The pitching matchup features two of the lowest-priced pitchers of the night, with Elieser Hernandez ($6,800) going for the Marlins and Wil Crowe ($6,200) starting for the Pirates. Hernandez has been fairly consistent in 2021, with few big games but few bad ones too, and he’s scored between 6 and 20 fantasy points in all of his starts this season. Most recently, he struggled in a tough matchup against the Atlanta Braves, scoring 7.7 points while giving up 3 runs in 4.2 innings.
The Marlins are dealing with some key injuries on the offensive side, with Jesús Aguilar, Garrett Cooper, and Brian Anderson all on the IL. Despite that, a few of their hitters are coming off of some strong performances in their recent road series against the Washington Nationals. Lewin Díaz ($2,000) hit two homers, scoring 28 points back on Sept. 14, and Bryan De La Cruz scored 24 while homering the next day. Jazz Chisholm Jr. ($4,000) has probably been the Marlins most reliable hitter throughout the season, and he could be a popular DFS option on Friday with the platoon advantage against the Pirates starter Crowe.
