FORT MYERS, Fla. -- An MRI performed on Red Sox lefty Eduardo Rodriguez revealed a patella subluxation in the right knee. There is no structural damage, but Rodriguez won't throw for at least three days.
"The cartilage is fine. The ligaments are fine. There's some swelling," said Red Sox manager John Farrell on Sunday. "He's going through some treatment and will continue to do so. When he's deemed ready to initiate a throwing program, we'll do so at that time."

The injury occurred on Saturday during a popup drill for pitchers. Rodriguez caught a spike in the grass and fell to the ground, where he stayed for a few minutes.
The Red Sox are hopeful that the injury is nothing more than a brief annoyance.
"[The knee] comes out of the groove somewhat and slides back in," said Farrell. "There's a discomfort initially with the resulting fluid that built up, but we're working to get that out of there. He's walking around fine. There's no bracing. Just regular walking."
Rodriguez recorded 10 wins in his rookie season last year and could emerge as one of the top starters in the rotation.
