Encarnacion in for annual Tribe Fest

New Indians slugger among confirmed attendees for event on Jan. 28

CLEVELAND -- The Indians added an impact bat to their offense with the signing of free-agent slugger . The first baseman has also joined the planned lineup for Tribe Fest later this month.
On Thursday, Cleveland announced that Encarnacion is confirmed for attending the team's annual Tribe Fest, which will take place on Jan. 28 at the InterContinental Hotel near the Cleveland Clinic campus. The club also announced that the afternoon session for the fan fest is sold out, and tickets for the morning session are going fast.
Including Encarnacion, who signed a three-year contract worth $60 million to join the reigning American League champions, the Indians have 14 players confirmed to participate in Tribe Fest, with more likely joining the event's roster. There are a limited number of tickets remaining for the 9 a.m.-2 p.m. ET session, as the evening portion (2-7 p.m.) is no longer available.

As of now, Cleveland expects to have 2014 Cy Young Award winner , '16 Gold Glove Award winner and '16 AL Championship Series Most Valuable Player among the players on hand at Tribe Fest. Others confirmed to attend include , , , , Zach McAllister, , , , and Josh Tomlin.
Indians alumni expected to attend include Ellis Burks, Mike Hargrove, Mike Jackson, Chad Ogea and Jaret Wright.
Tribe Fest will feature the team's mascots, photo booths, locker room displays and a range of activities, including fast pitch, Louisville Slugger bat making, face painting and more. The main stage at the event will have question-and-answer sessions with players and alumni, among other programs. Tribe Fest is being held at the InterContinental Hotel due to ongoing renovations at Progressive Field.
