CINCINNATI -- Elly De La Cruz is making a habit of celebrating his bobblehead night in the most spectacular way.
The Reds’ star shortstop crushed an 0-2 fastball from Milwaukee right-hander Dustin May a Statcast-projected 438 feet to the grass berm beyond the center-field wall, and just below the batter’s eye to tie the game, 1-1. It was his 22nd of the season and his first since Aug. 22 at Arizona.
It’s the second straight year De La Cruz pulled off the feat. On April 12, 2025, De La Cruz crushed a grand slam to power the Reds past the Pirates, 5-2.
Coincidentally, that grand slam came in support of Andrew Abbott, who happened to be the starter again Saturday night against Milwaukee.
