Ervin Santana joins White Sox for start vs. Rays

April 9th, 2019

Veteran right-hander Ervin Santana is back in The Show. The White Sox purchased his contract from Triple-A Charlotte before their Tuesday afternoon tilt against the Rays, and the 36-year-old is set to get the start in the matinee.

Santana has pitched across 14 big league seasons, compiling 149-125 record and a 4.06 ERA over 384 appearances (381 starts). He spent the past four seasons with Minnesota, but a hand injury limited him to just five games last year. Santana is just two years removed from an All-Star campaign, when he went 16-8 with 3.28 ERA while tying for the Major League lead in complete games with five.
