HOUSTON -- The Astros are getting healthier.
One of nine Astros on the disabled list, catcher Evan Gattis took batting practice on the field on Wednesday for the first time since going on the shelf on Aug. 5.
Gattis passed the ImPACT concussion test prior to Wednesday's game against the D-backs and says he could be activated during the current eight-game homestand.
"I think so," Gattis said. "It's not my call. I'm going to try and push to do as much as I can as long as I still feel good, which I think I will."
Following is a look at other Astros on the DL:
RHP Will Harris (10-day DL, shoulder): Harris, who threw a bullpen session (including breaking balls) on Wednesday, has missed 18 games while on the DL for the second time with inflammation in his right shoulder. He missed 12 games from July 11-28 with the same ailment.
Harris is scheduled to throw off the main mound at Minute Maid Park on Friday, facing a few hitters, to ramp up the intensity before an eventual Minor League rehab assignment.
Harris hasn't pitched in a game since July 5, but manager A.J. Hinch hasn't forgotten Harris' importance.
"I miss him," Hinch said. "I miss him terribly. He answers so many questions that we have throughout games -- in high-leverage roles to troubleshooting through some messes that we have in the middle innings."
RHP Lance McCullers (10-day, back): McCullers will throw another bullpen session on Thursday. He did not accompany the Astros during their previous road trip, continuing his rehab in Houston during his second DL stint of the season with discomfort in his back. He, too, will need a Minor League rehab assignment.
"Similar to Will, we're going to intensify his workload and let it go a little bit," Hinch said. "He's had a steady progression while he's been on the DL. This is another good step in the right direction. There's a rehab assignment in sight. I just don't know when it is, based on how this bullpen goes. Whether he will have a live [batting practice] session or not will be decided after tomorrow's bullpen."

C Brian McCann (10-day, knee): McCann developed issues in his right knee (for the first time in his career) roughly three weeks ago. After an MRI revealed tendinitis and inflammation, McCann, who says the immediate plan is mainly to rest, took a cortisone shot and will be eligible to return on Aug. 24, against the Nationals.
"I got a shot, so hopefully in 10 days I'll be able to come back and have no pain in there," McCann said.

In addition, relievers Michael Feliz and Tony Sipp are on the mend. Feliz -- who is behind Harris and McCullers in the stages of a throwing program, per Hinch -- threw his first bullpen since hitting the DL on Aug. 1. He will throw another bullpen in a couple of days, Hinch said.
"[Feliz] reported that things went really well," Hinch said. "It was his first mound activity. So that's a good sign."
Sipp, who has a 6.47 ERA this season, threw a couple of bullpen sessions at Minute Maid during the Astros' most recent road trip and may be sent on a Minor League assignment soon.
"It would be nice to get him in some competitions in the Minor Leagues at some point near the tail end of this homestand," Hinch said.
