DETROIT -- When it came time to pick a nickname for Players’ Weekend, running across Major League Baseball from Aug. 23-25, White Sox reliever had two choices. He ended up going with "Forgetting Sarah," playing off the well-known comedy, "Forgetting Sarah Marshall."

“In baseball, everybody calls me Marsh, which I think originally was what I was going to put on there,” the White Sox reliever said in between games of Tuesday’s split doubleheader with the Tigers. “But it’s 'Forgetting Sarah Marshall,' it’s a hilarious movie.

“It has some of my favorite actors in it. It’s just kind of whenever you think 'Forgetting Sarah,' you think 'Marshall.' I thought if they can squeeze it on a jersey, it would be a funny one. The movie is great.”

A list of White Sox Players’ Weekend nicknames was released on Tuesday, along with nicknames from the rest of baseball. went with “The Horse,” before picking up his 22nd save in the team’s Game 1 victory. Outfielder went with “305 J,” while chose “Noah Alan,” representing his two sons.

Those were just a few of the White Sox selections, but it would be tough for them to top Marshall’s choice. Marshall added that Jason Segel, one of the stars of the movie along with Mila Kunis and Kristen Bell, would be his choice to play him in a baseball movie.

"I think everybody would at least laugh once," said Marshall of his choice. "I just dragged a little bit of movie humor into mine.”
