Asuaje, Renfroe lead El Paso to win

Second baseman Carlos Asuaje had four hits for Triple-A El Paso, while three hitters at Class A Advanced Lake Elsinore homered Wednesday night as four of the Padres' five affiliates posted wins.
Asuaje was 4-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored to raise his batting average to .332 as the Chihuahuas defeated Albuquerque in El Paso to improve to 39-26.
Right fielder Hunter Renfroe (.321) was 3-for-4 with a RBI and a run scored for El Paso. Right-handed starter Carlos Pimental allowed two runs on four hits and two walks with a strikeout in six innings to improve to 6-4 while lowering his ERA to 6.45 for El Paso. Right-hander Jose Dominguez (3.00) issued a walk with a strikeout in a scoreless ninth to get his sixth save.
Center fielder Franchy Cordero (.278) was 3-for-5 with his fifth homer and three runs scored as Lake Elsinore (29-37) scored a 9-2 win at High Desert.
Right fielder Franmil Reyes (.241) hit his fifth homer in four at-bats with three RBIs and two runs scored. First baseman Trae Santos (.220) hit a three-run homer in four at-bats. Right-handed starter Zech Lemond (5.25 ERA) allowed a run on two hits and two strikeouts in three innings. Left-hander Brad Wieck (1.83) allowed three hits with five strikeouts in three scoreless innings.
At Class A Fort Wayne, right-handed starter Jacob Nix and two relievers combined on a seven-hit shutout. Nix (1-3, 3.50 ERA), the Padres' third-round pick in the 2015 Draft, allowed five hits with four strikeouts over five innings as the TinCaps (36-30) defeated West Michigan 5-0. Right-handed relievers Louis Distacio (3.00) and Gerardo Reyes (1.77) each allowed a hit in two scoreless innings. Distacio had two strikeouts.
Center fielder Michael Gettys (.321) was 1-for-3 with a walk, his 24th steal and a run scored. Catcher A.J. Kennedy (.225) had a double in four at-bats for two RBIs.
There were a series of moves in the Padres' organization Wednesday. Right-handed pitcher Brandon Morrow was transferred from extended spring training and placed on the seven-day disabled list at El Paso. With infielder Ryan Schimpf promoted to the Padres, infielder Felipe Blanco was transferred from Lake Elsinore to El Paso.
First baseman Mike Olt was placed on the seven-day disabled list at Double-A San Antonio with a foot injury. Left-handed pitcher Taylor Cox was placed on the seven-day disabled list at Fort Wayne and right-handed pitcher Elliot Morris was transferred from extended spring training to Fort Wayne.

DSL PADRES (4-6): PADRES 9, Orioles1 6. 3B Eguy Rosario (.419) was 3-for-5 with his fifth double, two steals, two RBIs and two runs scored. CF Angel Santos (.435) was 2-for-2 with a triple, two walks, three steals and a RBI. 1B Elvis Sabala (.276) was 2-for-5 with a run scored. 2B Luis Guzman (.238) was 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Starting LHP Aaron Lezama (15.43) allowed six runs on seven hits and a walk with three strikeouts in three innings. RHP Angel Acevedo (0.00) gave up a hit and two walks with three strikeouts in three scoreless innings. RHP Jose Hernandez (1-0, 0.00) gave up two hits and a walk with two strikeouts in three innings.
