The first two months of the 2022 season are in the books. And some of baseball's biggest stars are red-hot to start the summer. 

A slew of big-name hitters had big months of May -- and they're at the top of our Hitter Power Rankings. 

This week, there's not just a new No. 1, there's an entirely new Top 3 from the last power rankings. And there are five new hitters breaking into the Top 10 since last time. Just a reminder: for the rankings, we ask our MLB.com voters to consider a combination of talent, track record, recent performance, compelling storylines and a bit of "fun factor."

Here are the latest Hitter Power Rankings.

1) Mookie Betts, RF, Dodgers (last poll: 7)

It's not surprising who's the new No. 1. Betts has been on another level for the last month. May 2022 might be the best month of Mookie's career -- he hit .342 with a personal-best 12 home runs, 27 RBIs and an 1.157 OPS while leading the Dodgers to a 20-9 record. Then he started June by hitting his National League-leading 16th home run.

2) Paul Goldschmidt, 1B, Cardinals (6)

It's nice when you have two MVP-caliber bats in your lineup. Nolan Arenado carried the Cardinals offense in April. Goldy carried it in May. Goldschmidt batted an NL-best .404 for the entire month with 10 home runs and an MLB-leading 33 RBIs. And he's on a 23-game hitting streak.

3) José Ramírez, 3B, Guardians (not ranked)

J-Ram ranked in the Top 3 of the first two Hitter Power Rankings of the season, and he's right back there again after falling out of the Top 10 last time. The Guardians slugger was just named American League Player of the Week after batting .348 with three homers, seven extra-base hits, 11 RBIs and three stolen bases last week. Ramírez leads the Majors with 52 RBIs.

4) Aaron Judge, OF, Yankees (1)

The No. 1 hitter in the last power rankings might have cooled off a little, but Judge is still mashing baseballs. The Yankees slugger hit his Major League-leading 19th home run of the season on Thursday -- off Shohei Ohtani, no less -- and he's leading the Bronx Bombers to the best record in the league.

5) J.D. Martinez, DH, Red Sox (not ranked)

Red Sox manager Alex Cora recently said of Martinez: "I've never seen him like this." The veteran DH is leading the MLB batting race, hitting .360 after a huge month of May. Martinez led the Majors with a .406 batting average during the month and posted a 1.071 OPS. Martinez, Rafael Devers and Trevor Story got the Red Sox offense firing on all cylinders.

6) Francisco Lindor, SS, Mets (not ranked)

The superstar shortstop is the NL Player the Week and is one of two hitters sparking the first-place Mets right now (the other is No. 10). Lindor has an RBI in 10 straight games, making him one of only two Mets to ever have a streak that long, along with Mike Piazza.

7) Rafael Devers, 3B, Red Sox (5)

Devers and Martinez have been a dynamic one-two punch all season. Devers leads the Majors with 73 hits and 129 total bases, and he leads the AL with 39 runs scored and 21 doubles. He's also batting .341. And he's played all 51 games for the Red Sox.

8) Mike Trout, CF, Angels (2)

As always, Trout's numbers rank among the best in baseball. He leads the AL with a 196 OPS+, meaning he's been nearly twice as good as a league-average hitter all season. He's dropped off a little since the last Hitter Power Rankings, but he still knocked eight homers with a .972 OPS in May.

9) Joc Pederson, LF, Giants (not ranked)

Joc has come up with some big hits lately, and some big home runs. On Tuesday against the Phillies, he hit a tiebreaking single in the 10th inning and an upper-deck two-run homer in the 11th to lead the Giants to victory. And he was the star of what might be the game of the year against the Mets on May 24. In the Giants' 13-12 walk-off win, Joc belted three home runs and had eight RBIs. The last homer was a game-tying three-run blast in the bottom of the eighth … and after the Mets re-took the lead in the ninth, Pederson knocked a game-tying single off Edwín Díaz with the Giants down to their last out, setting up the walk-off one batter later.

10) Pete Alonso, 1B, Mets (not ranked)

Lindor might be the spark in the Mets' lineup right now, but Alonso is the rock. The Mets' cleanup hitter is leading the NL with 47 RBIs this season and has mashed 13 home runs. He's been in the lineup for all 53 games, putting him on a 40-homer pace.
