Lindor stars in eerily familiar trailer for new Spielberg movie

“If you found out we weren’t alone, would that frighten you?”

That question is posed in a new trailer for “Disclosure Day,” an upcoming science fiction movie from legendary director Steven Spielberg. And at the center of the trailer is none other than Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor.

In the 30-second spot that was filmed at Citi Field, Lindor is seen preparing to field his position during a game when suddenly a cardinal lands on his left arm. But it doesn’t seem like that bird -- or what follows it -- came from St. Louis. Bright lights from a mysterious craft then appear in the sky and leave Lindor in an apparent trance before his eyes suddenly change color.

It’s a scene reminiscent of another sci-fi film that famously featured a cameo by a Mets player. In 1997’s “Men In Black” -- a movie on which Spielberg served as executive producer -- outfielder Bernard Gilkey was left in shock as an alien spacecraft flew over Shea Stadium, causing Gilkey to totally disregard a fly ball that ultimately bounced off his head.

What does it all mean? Guess we’ll find out when "Disclosure Day" is released nationwide on June 12.
