Giants' right-hander is 67th on MLB Pipeline's midseason rankings

July 29th, 2016

SAN FRANCISCO -- Giants pitching prospect Phil Bickford has enjoyed a breakout year with both Class A Augusta and Class A Advanced San Jose. The right-hander has a 2.71 ERA in 17 combined starts to go along with 105 strikeouts. As a result, he represented the organization at the 2016 SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game.
It's also why he is now ranked 67th on MLB Pipeline's Midseason 100 Top Prospects list. Bickford, 21, was San Francisco's first pick in the 2015 Draft. He didn't appear on the rankings before the season.
The only other Giants prospect to join Bickford on the list is shortstop Christian Arroyo. The 21-year-old, who is batting .285 with 33 RBIs for Double-A Richmond, is ranked No. 96. Arroyo was listed at 82nd in the preseason rankings.

The Giants' 39 points represent a 20-point improvement from their total on the Preseason 100 Top Prospects list.
The Pirates lead all Major League teams with 383 Prospect Points. The Rockies rank first among National League West teams with 293 Prospect Points.
