BALTIMORE -- The Orioles appear to have avoided disaster at Camden Yards on Tuesday night, as star shortstop Gunnar Henderson is considered day to day with left knee tightness after exiting Baltimore's 9-5 loss against the Guardians during the bottom of the eighth inning.
Henderson appeared to foul a ball off his right leg during a plate appearance vs. Cleveland right-hander Hunter Gaddis. The 25-year-old was checked over by a trainer, remained in the game and went on to draw a walk.
However, Henderson did not make it through the rest of the inning. He ran from first to second on a groundout by Coby Mayo, then exited for a pinch-runner. Henderson departed alongside a trainer and manager Craig Albernaz.
Henderson hasn’t quite performed up to expectations in 2026, hitting .219 with 25 doubles, five triples, 22 home runs, 57 RBIs and a .698 OPS in 145 games. He’s stayed healthy the whole year to this point, playing in all but one game.
