Getting called up to the Majors for the first time is an unforgettable moment for every Minor Leaguer who receives that opportunity.
Orioles prospect Gunnar Henderson (MLB Pipeline's No. 2 overall prospect) got that surprise Tuesday when he found out -- while waiting for his burger order -- that Baltimore was planning to call him up to The Show.
The 21-year-old had just placed his order when he was called into Norfolk Tides manager Buck Britton’s office. Britton delayed the reveal a bit, discussing the team's defensive plans for Henderson for the next couple days, before giving him the big news, which brought a big smile to the youngster's face.
And yes, Henderson eventually received his order of two bacon cheeseburgers, according to fellow O’s prospect Colton Cowser.
Don’t worry guys the 2 bacon cheeseburgers were taken to go and made it safely to Gunnar soon after this… Couldn’t have happened to a better dude, congrats ElGunnar🤟🏻 @G_Henderson2https://t.co/X6Uu8kwTFb
