January 23rd, 2021

CINCINNATI -- The Reds added more pitching on Friday when they acquired right-hander from the Blue Jays for a player to be named later or cash.

Perez, 24, made his big league debut for Toronto last season on Sept. 16. In his lone game, he gave up two runs on three hits and three walks with one home run allowed against the Yankees.

Over his Minor League career, Perez is 23-18 with a 3.57 ERA and 1.37 WHIP in 109 games, including 79 starts. On July 30, 2018, he was traded from the Astros to the Blue Jays as part of a deal that sent embattled closer Roberto Osuna to Houston.

Perez’s addition put Cincinnati at 36 players on its 40-man roster.
