October 24th, 2017

ST. PETERSBURG -- Hillsborough County officials have decided on where a new ballpark would be located if the Rays are to make Tampa their new home, and the landing spot is in the Channel district/Ybor City area.
As reported by WFLA Channel 8, Hillsborough County commissioner Ken Hagan announced the potential site for a new Rays ballpark on Tuesday. The location is bordered by Fourth Avenue and Adamo Drive to the north and south and 15th Street and Channelside Drive to the east and west.
Rays president Brian Auld issued the following statement in response to the announcement made by Hillsborough County officials:
"This is another important step in the site selection process, and we are grateful for the time and attention that went into making it a possibility. We look forward to getting to work evaluating this option, along with those in Pinellas County including the Tropicana Field site, as a potential future home for Rays Baseball in Tampa Bay for generations to come."

Now the Rays must decide if the Hillsborough option is best one to go forward with or other options in Piniellas County.
