Here's how Angels prospects are performing in Arizona Fall League

With the Arizona Fall League in full swing, it’s time to check in on how Angels prospects have been faring with the Mesa Solar Sox this year.

Shortstop is the headliner, and he’s been on an incredible run since being acquired from the Blue Jays in exchange for right-hander José Soriano on Aug. 3. After helping lead Double-A Rocket City to the Southern League Championship, the 21-year-old has kept it going with an impressive showing in the Arizona Fall League. Nimmala, ranked as the club's No. 1 prospect and MLB’s No. 34 prospect by MLB Pipeline, has slashed .245/.420/.434 in 14 games.

But he’s just one of nine Angels prospects participating in the Fall League, so here’s a look at how they have done so far for the Solar Sox, who have a 7-10 record as part of a 30-game season that concludes on Nov. 14:

SS Arjun Nimmala

Nimmala has a blend of power and speed, as he’s racked up six extra-base hits and three stolen bases through his first 14 games in Fall League action. He was the Fall League Hitter of the Week in Week 2, and he’s showing why he’s been moving up in the prospect rankings. One thing he’s continuing to work on is his contact rate, as he’s struck out 18 times compared to 15 walks in 69 plate appearances. He should reach Triple-A Salt Lake next year and is likely to make his debut in ’28.

3B Jake Munroe

ranked as the club’s No. 20 prospect by MLB Pipeline, teamed up with Nimmala to lead Double-A Rocket City to the title and has also carried over that momentum into the Fall League. The 23-year-old has held his own, slashing .250/.413/.469 with a homer, four doubles and 10 RBIs in 10 games. He's also walked 10 times compared to eight strikeouts, showing strong plate discipline.

1B Ryland Zaborowski

The 24-year-old Ryland Zaborowski has shown patience so far, hitting .259/.444/.370 with a homer and four RBIs in eight games. He was signed as an undrafted free agent out of Georgia and had a solid season across three levels in the Minors this year, slashing .279/.368/.538 with 16 homers, 14 doubles and 68 RBIs in 66 games but was playing against younger competition.

1B/OF Anthony Santa Cruz de Oviedo

Just 19 years old, Anthony Santa Cruz de Oviedo made his Fall League debut on Tuesday, going 1-for-4 with a double while starting at first base. He earned the nod to play in the Fall League after the Cuba native batted .254/.375/.435 with six homers, 10 doubles, two triples and two stolen bases in 53 games in the Arizona Complex League.

RHP Peyton Olejnik

At 6-foot-11, Peyton Olejnik is hard to miss, and the 23-year-old has been a strikeout machine in the Minors since being selected in the sixth round of the 2024 Draft out of Miami (Ohio) University. He's posted a 7.56 ERA with nine strikeouts and six walks in 8 1/3 innings so far with the Solar Sox, so he’ll look to cut down his walk rate.

RHP Kyle Robinson

Kyle Robinson, acquired in the trade that sent Kirby Yates to the Pirates, scuffled after joining the organization, posting a 9.89 ERA in six starts with Double-A Rocket City. The 23-year-old also had a rough showing in the Fall League with a 14.63 ERA with five strikeouts and seven walks in eight innings.

RHP Sam Tookoian

Sam Tookoian, 23, was the club’s 20th-round selection out of Ole Miss in 2025 and posted a 3.92 ERA with 47 strikeouts and 34 walks in 43 2/3 innings with High-A Tri-City. He has put up an impressive 1.93 ERA but has struck out three and walked four in 4 2/3 innings.

RHP Yeferson Vargas

Yeferson Vargas, acquired from the Red Sox at the 2024 Trade Deadline as a part of the Luis García deal, has big stuff but has had trouble putting it all together. The 22-year-old registered a 6.45 ERA with 79 strikeouts and 56 walks in 99 innings with High-A Tri-City this year and has posted a 6.23 ERA with three strikeouts and four walks in 4 1/3 innings of Fall League action.

RHP Najer Victor

Najer Victor put himself on the map with his memorable showing for Team Britain in the World Baseball Classic and put together a 4.91 ERA with 39 strikeouts and 27 walks in 29 1/3 innings across Double-A and Triple-A this year. He has a 9.00 ERA with five strikeouts and three walks in four innings for Mesa this fall, so cutting down walks will be key.
