Indians add RHP Oliver Drake to roster

The Cleveland Indians today announced the following transaction relative to the 40-man Major League roster: Acquired RHP OLIVER DRAKE from the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for cash considerations and added him to the Major League roster.

CLEVELAND, OH - The Cleveland Indians today announced the following transaction relative to the 40-man Major League roster:
Acquired RHP OLIVER DRAKE from the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for cash considerations and added him to the Major League roster.
Drake, 31, owns a four-year Major League career record of 5-5 with a 4.49 ERA in 102 relief appearances with the Milwaukee Brewers and Baltimore Orioles since debuting in 2015 (102.1IP, 104H, 51ER, 115SO). He opened the 2017 season with the Milwaukee Brewers, posting a 1-0 mark with a 6.39 ERA in 11 relief outings (9ER/12.2IP) before being designated for assignment on May 1. 
He began his career as the 43rd round pick (1286th overall) of the Orioles in the 2008 First-Year Player Draft out of the United States Naval Academy, one of three players in Navy history to appear in the Major Leagues. The Mount Herman, MA native was acquired from Baltimore by Milwaukee on April 13, 2017 and appeared in 61 games for the Brewers in 2016. He has fanned 10.1 batters per 9.0 innings over his Major League career (115 SO/102.1 IP).
