Tribe donating to local league after theft, vandalism

September 8th, 2016

CLEVELAND -- The Indians are doing their part to help the community in a time of need.
On Thursday, Matt Kata, the Indians' manager of youth baseball development, presented a monetary and equipment donation to the Puritas Baseball League. Earlier this week, the Puritas Baseball League's office, on the southwest side of Cleveland, was broken into, and its field was vandalized. The league lost equipment and suffered property damage as a result.
The Indians presented the donation at Maplewood Diamond at 5 p.m. ET. One of the Indians' mascots was also in attendance during the event.
