Here's a look at top prospects to watch in today's Minor League action:
Hitter to watch: (Indians' No. 2), Akron vs. Binghamton (6:35 p.m. ET on MiLB.TV)
Mejia, who is ranked 37th on MLB Pipeline's Top 100 Prospects list, extended his season-opening hitting streak to 13 games with a third-inning triple before finishing 2-for-4 for Double-A Akron on Monday. The 21-year-old backstop, the author of a historic 50-game hitting streak last season, is batting .367 in his first taste of the Eastern League, and eight of his 18 hits have gone for extra bases. Akron, meanwhile, seeks its sixth straight victory.

Pitcher to watch: (Padres' No. 12), El Paso vs. Reno (8:35 p.m. ET on MiLB.TV)
Lamet set both a career high and a Triple-A El Paso franchise record by striking out 13 of the 22 batters he faced in his April 20 start versus Tacoma. The 24-year-old righty ultimately received a no-decision, allowing one earned run on three hits and three walks in 5 1/3 innings. Overall, Lamet owns a 0.69 ERA through 13 innings (three starts), with eight hits allowed and 19 strikeouts.

Duel of the day: (Rangers' No. 2) vs. (Padres' No. 17), San Antonio vs. Frisco (8:05 p.m. ET on MiLB.TV)
A home run accounted for three of the four earned runs allowed by Mendez, ranked 52nd on the Top 100, in his most recent start, though he still managed to complete six strong innings. It marked the longest outing of the season for the 22-year-old left-hander, who enters the day with a 3.78 ERA and a 13-to-9 strikeout-to-walk ratio through 16 2/3 frames (three starts).

De Los Santos fired six perfect innings with seven strikeouts on April 14 in his second start (and home debut) for Double-A San Antonio, but lasted just three innings, giving up three earned runs on five hits and four walks, in his most recent turn against Midland. Overall, the 21-year-old righty is 1-0 with a 2.40 ERA and 16 strikeouts in 15 innings.
