The Angels on Thursday acquired left-hander Jayvien Sandridge from the New York Yankees in exchange for cash considerations. In a corresponding 40-man roster move, right-hander Osvaldo Bido was designated for assignment.
Sandridge, 26, made his Major League debut with the Yankees on July 5, 2025. He appeared in 38 regular season games across three minor league levels last season, and compiled a 3-2 record and 4.66 ERA (36.2 IP – 19 ER) with 54 strikeouts, three saves, and 10 holds. Additionally, he worked 2.0 scoreless innings during the International League Championship Series. Overall, Sandridge held opponents scoreless in 29 of 40 minor league outings (regular season and Postseason), including in seven of nine games in September when he held hitters to a .115 (3/26) average against.
A Maryland native, Sandridge was originally selected by Baltimore in the 32nd round of the 2018 First-Year Player Draft out of Mercersburg Academy in Mercersburg, Pa. In his career, Sandridge has compiled a 16-15 record and 3.99 ERA (241.1 IP – 107 ER) with 356 strikeouts and 11 saves across 190 minor league games in the Orioles, Reds, Padres, and Yankees organizations.
