Just as Aaron Judge returned, the Yankees are losing another lineup staple. Jazz Chisholm Jr. was placed on the 10-day injured list on Wednesday with a right thumb sprain.
Chisholm sustained the injury during the eighth inning of Tuesday night's game after jamming his thumb while sliding into second base. He was replaced in the top of the ninth by José Caballero, who came in to play second base.
Caballero could get reps there in the absence of Chisholm, who will have seven to 10 days of no baseball activities before being reevaluated.
