The rejuvenated Binghamton Rumble Ponies lineup post-Trade Deadline is doing some serious damage.
The Mets’ Double-A affiliate has gone 20-7 in August, and Sunday’s 14-5 victory over Reading at FirstEnergy Stadium was just another example of the team’s top talent taking center stage.
Jefferson Rojas (NYM No. 1 prospect), Mitch Voit (NYM No. 4) and Marco Vargas combined for 10 hits, nine RBIs and seven runs out of Binghamton’s top three spots in the order.
Voit set the table all day for the Rumble Ponies out of the leadoff spot. He went 3-for-4 with a pair of walks, whacking a fifth-inning two-run homer as well as a double. The 38th overall pick in the 2025 Draft, Voit earned a promotion to Double-A on July 29 and has absolutely raked ever since.
He’s hitting .402 with a 1.121 OPS, including two home runs and 11 doubles, across 22 games. The former Michigan standout was a two-way player before internal brace surgery shifted him to a full-time hitting focus, and he’s transitioned well to the infield. He boasts above-average tools across the board: 50 hit, 50 power, 60 run, 60 arm and 50 field.
Vargas missed much of this season with injury, but the 21-year-old shortstop has been excellent since re-joining the Binghamton lineup on Aug. 4. He went 4-for-6 out of the two hole Sunday, driving in a pair of runs with two doubles. He also stole three bases. In August, Vargas is slashing .333/.369/.513 with three home runs, 15 RBIs and 11 steals.

Finally, Rojas -- MLB Pipeline’s No. 76 prospect overall -- went 3-for-6 with four RBIs, including a two-run dinger. Acquired in the trade that sent Clay Holmes and Tyrone Taylor to the Cubs, Rojas has been red-hot in the Mets’ organization. The 21-year-old infielder has a .931 OPS in 21 games with Binghamton, slugging seven homers and five doubles to go along with 25(!) RBIs.
This has been a career year for the Dominican Republic native, whose 55 hit tool and 50 power have always given him high upside at the plate. He’s carrying an .826 OPS on the year with 22 homers, which doubled his previous career-high of 11, set in 2025.
Adding Rojas to the top of the New York organization was key at the Deadline, helping the Mets replenish their system after the graduations of Nolan McLean, Carson Benge and AJ Ewing this year. They sat 18th in Pipeline’s 2026 midseason rankings.
