ATLANTA -- 's journey has been much more difficult than he envisioned when the Phillies took him in the first round of the 2010 MLB Draft. But the left-handed reliever finally received his first call to the Major League level.
The Braves promoted Biddle from Triple-A Gwinnett on Wednesday and placed right-handed reliever on the 10-day disabled list with right shoulder inflammation.
Biddle surrendered three hits and issued just one walk over 6 1/3 scoreless innings in four appearances for Gwinnett this season. The 26-year-old southpaw was claimed off waivers by the Braves before the start of the 2016 season, which he missed while recovering from Tommy John surgery.
After surrendering four runs during the decisive 10th inning of Tuesday night's 5-1 loss to the Phillies, Ramirez said he has been battling right shoulder tightness, dating back to Spring Training. He has allowed 12 earned runs and issued eight walks over 6 1/3 innings for Atlanta this season.
