Rangers reliever Joely Rodríguez may not pitch again this season after suffering a strained left hamstring in the seventh inning of a 5-3 loss to the Mariners on Saturday at T-Mobile Park.

Rodríguez retired the first two hitters he faced before obviously feeling something bad on an 0-1 pitch to Kyle Lewis. He went to the ground and had to be helped off the field by Rangers manager Chris Woodward and trainer Matt Lucero.

Rodríguez will undergo further evaluation on Sunday.

“It didn’t look good based on talking to him as he was walking off the field,” Woodward said. “I don’t expect him to be back if I were to make an evaluation.”

Rodríguez was making his 12th appearance of the season. He was signed to a two-year deal on Dec. 19 and missed almost the first two weeks of the season with a strained lat muscle. He had a 2.25 ERA with 17 strikeouts over his first 11 outings this season.

Jonathan Hernández took over in a 2-2 game and retired Lewis to end the inning. But the Mariners scored three runs off him in the eighth to secure the win.
