Ricco discusses work in Mets' front office

MLB.com

With Sandy Alderson taking a leave of absence to undergo cancer treatment, the Mets' front office will be run by a three-man team of Omar Minaya, J.P. Ricciardi and John Ricco. Although he's less well known than those two former GMs, Ricco is expected to be at least as influential for a New York team that could be active before the July 31 non-waiver Trade Deadline.

MLB.com sat down with Ricco during Spring Training to discuss why he encourages all young executives to work in the Commissioner's Office, how he's made a career out of handling the unglamorous side of front-office work and what he sees as the next advancements in player scouting and development. Take a listen on this week's episode of the Executive Access podcast.
