Donaldson makes Toronto history with RBI double

CLEVELAND -- made some Blue Jays history with an RBI double in the third inning of Game 2 of the American League Championship Series. Donaldson answered the Indians' early blow at Progressive Field, though Toronto would fall to Cleveland, 2-1, putting the club in an 0-2 hole as the series shifts to Toronto for Monday's Game 3.
The hit was Donaldson's sixth two-base hit of the postseason, as he improved to 12-for-24. The six doubles are a Toronto postseason record, and it was Donaldson's ninth postseason double while with the Blue Jays, also a record.

Cleveland struck first, as hit a home run off Toronto starter in the second inning, but the Blue Jays wasted little time catching up. connected for a one-out single off Tribe starter and, after advancing on a groundout, raced home on Donaldson's double to deep right.
"A good piece of hitting by Donaldson," manager John Gibbons said.
It was the first run of the ALCS for the Blue Jays, who were shut out, 2-0, in Friday's Game 1 by and two relievers. Despite the lack of offense over the first two games, Donaldson is confident the Blue Jays will get it going in Game 3.
"The fact of the matter is, I think we just need to do a better job of having a better plan and approach, and I think we will," Donaldson said.
