The Oakland A's placed catcher Josh Phegley on the seven-day concussion disabled list and recalled catcher Bruce Maxwell from Triple-A Nashville, the club announced today.
 
Phegley was removed from Wednesday's game against the Twins after taking a foul ball off his mask. He has started nine games for the A's, all at catcher, and five of his seven hits have gone for extra bases (four doubles, one home run). 
 
Maxwell returns for his second stint with the A's this season. He was originally recalled on April 17 and started two games at catcher before being optioned to Nashville on April 20. His seven doubles in Nashville are tied for the team lead.
