Josh Staumont put a bow on his regular season Monday by doing what he does best -- miss bats.
The Royals' No. 11 prospect matched his career high with 12 strikeouts and fired six scoreless innings to pace Double-A Northwest Arkansas in a 7-0 shutout of Arkansas and clinch the Texas League North Division second-half title. He scattered four hits and walked two while throwing 65 of his 91 pitches for strikes.
Staumont struck out the side in three of his six frames en route to fanning 12 of the 23 batters he faced in the outing. It was his fourth start with double-digit strikeouts and third since being promoted to the Northwest Arkansas in the middle of July. The 22-year-old righty was especially dominant down the stretch, racking up 30 strikeouts in just 17 innings across his final three starts for the Naturals.

Staumont finished his first taste of the Double-A level with a 2-1 record and 3.04 ERA in 11 starts, during which he compiled 73 strikeouts against 37 walks in 50 1/3 innings. It was a strong showing for the 2015 second-rounder, who had struggled to the tune of a 2-10 record and a 5.05 ERA with a 94-67 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 73 innings with Class A Advanced Wilmington prior to advancing to the Texas League.
All together, Staumont finished second among all qualified Minor League hurlers with 167 strikeouts and first with 12.2 strikeouts per nine innings. Unfortunately, his 104 walks and walks-per-nine rate of 7.6 were both the worst in the Minors, leading many to believe that the Azusa Pacific product is destined for a bullpen role long term.

• After spending a little over a week on the disabled list with a hamstring injury, No. 17 overall prospectClint Frazier (Yankees' No. 1) returned to action with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to club his 16th home run in his first at-bat. The 21-year-old outfielder went 1-for-5 at the plate in the contest to finish the regular season with a .263/.335/.447 batting line in 119 games between the Double- and Triple-A levels.

• No. 34 overall prospect Cody Bellinger (Dodgers' No. 1) made headlines on Sunday by going deep twice in his first start for Triple-A Oklahoma City. The 21-year-old first baseman continued to swing a hot bat on Monday as he went 2-for-5 with another home run, his 26th of the season. Over his final 10 regular-season contests between Double-A Tulsa and Oklahoma City, Bellinger -- named to his second Prospect Team of the Week on Monday -- batted .432 with seven home runs, 12 runs scored and 15 RBIs.

• No. 90 overall prospect Derek Fisher (Astros' No. 6) hit a leadoff home run and scored the game-winning run in the top of the ninth inning in Triple-A Fresno's 4-3 win against Sacramento. The 23-year-old outfielder's homer was his 21st of 2016 and fifth at the Triple-A level, and he also tallied his 28th stolen base. He's one of three Minor Leaguers to finish with at least 20 bombs and 20 steals -- a feat he also accomplished during his 2015 full-season debut.

• Orioles Nos. 2 and 11 prospects Chance Sisco and Christian Walker combined to go 4-for-8 with three home runs and six RBIs to power Triple-A Norfolk's offense in a win over Durham. Sisco, 21, finished 2-for-4 with three runs scored and hit a two-run homer in the ninth inning, his sixth of the season (matching his career-high) and second in four games since being promoted to the Minors' highest level. Walker, meanwhile, increased his season total to 18 with a pair of home runs while matching his season high with four RBIs.

• Tigers No. 3 prospect Christin Stewart's 30th home run proved the game-winner as he connected on a go-ahead, two-run shot in the top of the 13th inning in Double-A Erie's 10-8 win over Binghamton. The home run was the 22-year-old slugger's fourth in his past five games and sixth in 24 games since being promoted to the Eastern League. Meanwhile, the 24 home runs that he hit during his time with Class A Advanced Lakeland is still tops in the Florida State League.

• Cubs No. 4 prospect Dylan Cease couldn't have closed out his season any better than he did on Monday when he recorded a career-high 10 strikeouts and allowed just one hit in five innings for Class A Short Season Eugene. The hard-throwing righty maintained a no-hit bid into the fifth inning before surrendering a one-out single. Few hurlers were better down the stretch than the 20-year-old Cease, who pitched to a 0.43 ERA, racked up 39 strikeouts and allowed just seven hits in 21 innings across his final five turns for the Emeralds.

• Double-A Reading bash brothers Phillies Nos. 7 and 13 prospects Dylan Cozens and Rhys Hoskins hit back-to-back home runs as part of a five-run top of the 10th inning as the Fightin Phils defeated Trenton, 11-6. Cozens' homer was his Minor League-leading 40th, while Hoskins finished the season with 38. Their combined 78 was the highest total by a pair of Minor League teammates since at least 1988.

• Giants No. 8 prospect Andrew Suarez tossed eight scoreless innings but failed to record a win as Double-A Richmond fell to Altoona in 10 innings, 2-0. The 2015 second-rounder allowed just two hits, walked one and struck out eight while throwing 64 of his 97 pitches for strikes in what was the longest outing of his career.
• Nationals No. 17 prospect Rafael Bautista collected multiple hits for the eighth time in his past 10 games as Double-A Harrisburg edged Hartford, 5-4. The 23-year-old center fielder went 4-for-5 at the plate -- his fifth four-hit performance of 2016 -- with a double and two RBIs to cap a torrid 10-game stretch during which he batted .467 with 21 hits and nine RBIs. He also picked up his 56th stolen base in the contest to finish the season with a share of the Minor League lead with Double-A Chattanooga outfielder Zach Granite.
• Twins No. 22 prospect Felix Jorge went the distance for Double-A Chattanooga to record his third complete game of the season and fifth of his career. The 22-year-old righty yielded one earned run on seven hits and two walks in nine innings, notching three strikeouts and 11 ground-ball outs. He threw just 94 pitches (63 strikes) in the game, which took just two hours and four minutes to complete. For the season, Jorge posted a 2.69 ERA and a 1.09 WHIP in 167 1/3 innings (25 starts) between the Class A Advanced and Double-A levels.
• Dario Agrazal's final regular-season start for Class A West Virginia was also the best of his career. The Pirates' No. 24 prospect carried a perfect game into the sixth inning before the first Greenville hitter reached base on an infield error, while a single by the Drive's next hitter ended his no-hit bid. The 21-year-old right-hander went on to complete eight scoreless frames, allowing one hit while striking out five.
