The Mets plan to activate from the injured list before Wednesday's game against the Twins, a source told MLB.com's Anthony DiComo on Tuesday. The club has not confirmed the news.

If Soto returns Wednesday as planned, he will have missed 15 games. The Mets have struggled badly in his absence, going 3-11, including entering Tuesday on an 11-game losing streak, the team's longest since 2004 (11 games). New York opens a three-game series with Minnesota on Tuesday night.

Soto was one of the Majors' hottest hitters when he strained his right calf on April 3; the 27-year-old four-time All-Star hit safely in all eight games he played and was slashing .355/.412/.516 with a homer and two doubles when he landed on the IL on April 6.

The Mets were 4-4 after winning the final game Soto played, a 10-3 victory over the Giants on April 3, then won their next three. The club has dropped 11 in a row from there, and briefly fell into a tie for the Majors' worst record.

Soto played in 160 games last year, his debut season with the Mets, recording an NL-best 38 steals to go with 43 homers and a Major League-leading 127 walks.
