Mariners prospect J-Rod extends HR streak

If Julio Rodríguez keeps hitting like this, he'll be on the fast track to follow fellow prospects and to the big leagues.

Rodríguez homered in a fourth consecutive game Sunday for High-A Everett, and for the fifth time in his last six games.

The 20-year-old outfielder's home run was part of a three-hit night for the AquaSox that raised his batting average to .353 for the season. Rodríguez is on a 10-game hitting streak on top of his four-game homer streak.

Rodríguez, Seattle's No. 2 prospect and the No. 5 overall prospect as ranked by MLB Pipeline, might only be at High-A for now, but he's already turning heads in the Mariners' front office.

Seattle recently promoted Kelenic, its top prospect and the No. 4 prospect in baseball, to the Major Leagues, along with Gilbert, the club's No. 4 prospect and the No. 27 prospect in baseball.
