'Have a drink, Junior.' Even opponents recognize how hard Caminero is hustling

The vibes are good for right now, and how can you blame him?

Last Friday, Caminero hit his 40th home run, a dramatic walk-off homer that sent the Rays to the playoffs. On Tuesday, he hit yet another walk-off home run to beat the A’s, his second game-winning homer in a five-day span. And in Thursday’s 10-1 Rays win over the Athletics, Caminero was clearly enjoying himself and Tampa Bay’s success.

While running after a foul ball that landed near the A’s bullpen down the left-field line, Caminero was presented a cup of water from A’s reliever Luis Medina. Recognizing his efforts and how far he ran to try to make this catch, Caminero took a drink of the water and promptly tossed the cup aside before heading back to third base.

"Hydration," said Caminero. "It's a long walk. That's my game right there -- getting funny."

It’s been a remarkable season for the Rays superstar, as Caminero has an .895 OPS with 41 home runs and is making a serious run at the AL MVP Award. The 23-year-old is one of baseball’s best players and, as Thursday’s water break near the bullpen showed, also has a lot of fun while doing so.
