Bour has Ric Flair in his corner for Final Vote

Marlins slugger fifth in balloting, which ends Thursday at 4 p.m. ET

ST. LOUIS -- Legendary wrestling champion Ric Flair is in 's corner when it comes to making the All-Star team. Via Twitter, the "Nature Boy" threw his support in the direction of the Marlins' first baseman in the Esurance MLB All-Star Final Vote.
Endorsements are coming in from all directions for Bour, but when Flair enters the ring -- Woooooo! -- that's saying something.

"I've got to have him out for BP and a game one of these days and thank him for that," Bour said.

Bour has an uphill climb in the quest to secure the final National League spot for the MLB All-Star Game presented by Mastercard on Tuesday, July 11, at 7:30 p.m. ET on FOX.
The first tallies were released Tuesday, and Bour was fifth. of the Dodgers leads, followed by Cubs third baseman , Nationals third baseman , of the Rockies and Bour.
"It's a huge honor to be listed with those guys and be in consideration for the All-Star Game," Bour said. "It's pretty exciting."

The campaign to get Bour into the All-Star Game, which will be played at Marlins Park, is in full swing. A number of his Marlins' teammates are sporting #VoteBour T-shirts.
Second baseman Dee Gordon on his Twitter account, posted a photo of himself with Bour, urging fans to vote for the left-handed-hitting first baseman.

The fun-loving Bour is known for keeping things loose.
Outfielder tweeted out a video clip of Bour doing a headstand while wearing a suit at a wedding.
Now Flair has urged his 773,300 Twitter followers to vote for Bour. "Talk about #AllStarWorthy .. @bour41 DESERVES to make it," Flair tweeted.

Bour acknowledged he watched professional wrestling growing up and attended WrestleMania a few years ago when it was held in New Orleans. Bour was at Triple-A New Orleans at the time.

The Marlins already have two representatives in the All-Star Game, has been voted in as a starting outfielder, and was selected as a reserve.

No matter how the Final Vote turns out, Bour already will be part of the All-Star festivities. On Monday, he announced he is taking part in the T-Mobile Home Run Derby on July 10 at Marlins Park.
