LOS ANGELES -- Clayton and Ellen Kershaw's charitable foundation, Kershaw's Challenge, has distributed more than $6 million to charity since its inception, and the couple's goal is to greatly increase that amount.

On Thursday, Kershaw announced a marketing deal with Harlan Werner's Sports Placement Service Inc., with all off-field proceeds earmarked for charitable distribution through the foundation.

"This was an easy choice, making Harlan part of our team. He has worked for Sandy Koufax for over 30 years -- that says a lot about his character and credibility," said Kershaw.

Kershaw's Challenge supports charity work in Los Angeles, his hometown of Dallas, the Dominican Republic and in the African nation of Zambia, where the Kershaws have built an orphanage and the Arise Christian School.

The sixth annual "Ping Pong 4 Purpose," the foundation's in-season fundraising event, will be held Thursday, Aug. 23, at Dodger Stadium. The Kershaws also host an annual offseason country music concert in Dallas. Last year's featured entertainer was Brad Paisley.

In addition to Koufax, Sports Placement Service Inc., has represented Muhammad Ali, Jim Brown, Joe Namath, John Riggins, Mike Tyson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

"Clayton and Ellen founded Kershaw's Challenge in 2011, together with their family and friends. They have dedicated the foundation to inspire others to make a difference and give back to those in need. It is very humbling for me to be a small part of this," said Werner.

"Clayton gives 100 percent both on and off the field. He exhibits dedication to helping the community and understands the true value of helping others. With his professionalism and level of consistency, Clayton has formed a legacy both on and off the field. I am very proud to be working for Clayton."
