MLB names LCS umpiring crews

Gorman tabbed as crew chief in AL; Cederstrom to lead NL group

Major League Baseball has announced its umpiring assignments for the 2016 League Championship Series, which begin with the Indians vs. the Blue Jays in the American League on Friday (8 p.m. ET on TBS in the U.S., Sportsnet and RDS in Canada).
Brian Gorman has been selected as the ALCS crew chief, while Gary Cederstrom will lead the National League umpiring crew.
Gorman's ALCS crew includes Laz Diaz, Mike Everitt, regular-season crew chief Jeff Nelson, Jim Reynolds and Jim Wolf in Games 1 and 2. Mark Wegner will be the replay official for the first two ALCS games before shifting to the on-field crew to replace Diaz, who will become the replay official.
Cederstrom's NLCS crew includes regular-season crew chief Ted Barrett, Eric Cooper, Angel Hernandez, Alfonso Marquez and Paul Nauert in Games 1 and 2. Bill Welke will be the replay official for the first two NLCS games before shifting to the on-field crew to replace Nauert, who will become the replay official.
Umpire Tripp Gibson will assist replay officials for all LCS games.
