LHP Kade Anderson and RHP Ryan Sloan to Represent Mariners at All-Star Futures Game

SEATTLE – Major League Baseball announced today the rosters for the 2026 All-Star Futures Game, with the Mariners top pitching prospects LHP Kade Anderson and RHP Ryan Sloan set to represent the Mariners. Both Sloan (No. 6) and Anderson (No. 8) are ranked in Baseball America’s top 10 prospects.

The game is set for Sunday, July 12 at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia at 9:00 a.m. PT / 12:00 p.m. ET and will be televised on NBC.

“This is a well-deserved honor for both Kade and Ryan, two of the most exciting pitching prospects in baseball,” Justin Toole, Mariners Director of Player Development said. “We are looking forward to watching them represent the Mariners in Philadelphia.”

Anderson, 21, will be participating in his first All-Star Futures Game. In his first professional season he has made 13 starts with Double-A Arkansas, going 8-0 with a 1.22 ERA (9 ER, 66.2 IP), 10 walks, 99 strikeouts, a 0.71 WHIP, 13.4 SO/9, 9.90 SO/BB and limiting opponents to a .162/.201/.224 slash line.

He leads minor league pitchers (min. 60.0 IP) in ERA, SO/BB, K% (41.4%), and WHIP while ranking among the leaders in lowest Opp. AVG (2nd), SO/9 (2nd), BB/9 (3rd) and strikeouts (2nd). He has been named Texas League Pitcher of the Week four times this season: April 12, June 7, June 14 and June 21. Anderson did not allow a run in 27.2 consecutive innings, spanning from May 22-June 19.

Anderson was the 3rd overall pick in the 2025 MLB First-Year Player Draft. He is ranked as the 6th overall prospect in baseball and top pitching prospect by MLB Pipeline and 8th overall prospect by Baseball America.

Prior to being drafted by the Mariners, Anderson spent two seasons at Louisiana State University (Baton Rogue, LA), going 16-3 with a 3.38 ERA (59 ER, 157.1 IP), 55 walks, 239 strikeouts and a 1.17 WHIP in 37 games (28 starts). He led the Tigers to a College World Series title in 2025, being named College World Series Most Outstanding Player after making 2 starts in Omaha, allowing just 1 earned run over 16.0 total innings while recording 17 strikeouts. He was also named Baseball America’s College Pitcher of the Year. Anderson was born in Slidell, Louisiana and attended St. Paul’s High School (Covington, LA).

Sloan, 20, will be participating in his first All-Star Futures game. He has made 13 starts this season for Double-A Arkansas going 2-2 with a 4.11 ERA (26 ER, 57.0 IP), 12 walks, 72 strikeouts and a 1.21 WHIP. Sloan is the youngest pitcher to appear at the Double-A level in 2026.

Sloan was named Texas League Pitcher of the Week on May 31, 2026 after tossing 6.0 perfect innings with 11 strikeouts on May 30 vs. Frisco. Since that start he owns a 2.81 ERA (8 ER, 25.2 IP), 2 walks and 34 strikeouts, holding opponents to a .212 batting average.

The Aurora, Illinois native was selected by the Mariners in the 2nd round of the 2024 MLB First-Year Player Draft out of York Community High School (York, IL). He has appeared in 2 minor league seasons, going a combined 4-6 with a 3.88 ERA (60 ER, 139.0 IP), 27 walks, 162 strikeouts and a 1.18 WHIP in 34 starts.
